Welcome to The City of Johnson City!

The information below will assist you with establishing your water, trash, and recycling services. All City offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

Water and Trash Service

All new water and trash customers must complete a City of Johnson City Water and Trash Service Application and Agreement prior to the City setting up service. A driver's license and deposit are required at the time of application. No service will be established until the required deposit and application is submitted. Requests for new service are accepted during normal business hours, excluding City holidays.

New residential customers must pay a deposit of $150.00,which will be applied to the final bill upon closing of the account. New customers must also pay a $25.00 service connection administrative fee which is not refundable for any reason.

Utility bills are due by the 15th of every month, and if not received by the 15th by 5:00 p.m a 10% penalty fee will be applied to your account. If you have not received your bill by the 5th day, please contact City Hall at (830) 868-7111.

If the 15th lands on a weekend or holiday customers are given the next business day to pay with no penalty. All payments must be received by 5 P.M. to avoid a late fee.

Every 16th of the month, a delinquent notice is mailed to every customer with an outstanding balance. Balance must be paid by the cut-off date, located on your bill, to avoid being disconnected. Your account will be disconnected and a re-connection fee will be applied to your account ranging $35.00 to $65.00. Please be advised our field workers are not allowed to accept any form of payment. All payments must be made at our City Office, or online. For your convenience a drop-box is located by the front door for payments dropped-off after regular business hours. The City will not be responsible for any cash payments lost in the night drop box.

The City offers weekly trash pick up provided by Waste Connections which is scheduled for every Tuesday. Commercial Customers with dumpsters will have trash pick up on Tuesdays and Fridays. Trash Service is Mandatory if your account is in the city limits. Trash Must be placed in the GREEN tote, and be on the curb before 7 a.m. every Tuesday. Recyclables must be placed UN-bagged in BLUE tote. Pick up is scheduled for every other Friday's between 7:00 a.m. and 6 p.m.. Please check your water bill for scheduled recycle date
